Raised in Fredericton with family ties to Tracadie, Saint John, Miramichi, and Moncton, Ryan brings firsthand knowledge of these regions from his own personal research. His expertise spans early Acadian families, Scottish Highland settler communities, and United Empire Loyalists— covering the full breadth of New Brunswick's founding populations and the diverse record types each community requires. By combining traditional documentary research with DNA findings analysis, Ryan has helped clients solve decades-old family mysteries and locate lost or previously unknown relatives.

Prior to founding Redfern Lineage, Ryan worked with immigration law firms in Toronto, gaining practical knowledge of Canadian immigration processes that directly informs his work preparing citizenship by descent eligibility reports. Redfern Lineage prepares these detailed reports for individuals seeking Canadian citizenship through ancestry, including comprehensive archival documentation and clear guidance on next steps for IRCC applications.

Ryan is currently completing two large-scale genealogy books: one documenting the descendants of William and Isabella Redfern Culley of the Saint John area, and another tracing the descendants of Jubal Watling of the Miramichi area.
