NBGS Meetings & Events

Most meetings include a guest speaker on a topic of interest to the branch, plus the opportunity to ask questions or chat with others about your research. All are welcome to attend.

Most of our meetings are hybrid. You can attend branch meetings in-person; or via Zoom from anywhere. Login to access the Zoom link. Clicking the link automatically places you in the waiting room until the host can admit you to the meeting.

Charlotte County NGBS Zoom Meeting

Thursday, Feb 26th at 7 pm – 8:30 pm AST (6 pm start for EST).

Mark Stewart will present Finding Your Roots: A Guide to Charlotte County Genealogical Records, reviewing the various data sources available for the County. The Loyalist settlers wave of 1783-1820 will provide examples, and illustrate the unique challenges of finding historical documents for Charlotte County Ancestors from this era.

Join us for a fast paced session that will introduce you to 20+ places to find historical documents. And don't worry, everyone will leave with a handy reference guide, and free access to a database to learn more about each data source after the webinar.

Land (Grants, Petitions, Deeds and Maps)
Vital Records (Church Records, Newspaper Vital Stats - Daniel F Johnson, Graves)
Military Records (Muster Rolls, Book of Negroes, Discipline, Pension, Diaries)
Notoriety (County Council, Probate, Legislature Petitions, Glimpses of the Past)
Historical Records (Historical Books, UNB Loyalist Collection, Loyalist Directory (UELAC), Academia
